Introduction

The category feature is a function that efficiently organizes and classifies tags within a 3D space. This allows you to quickly find tags with specific information from a vast number of tags.

Using the category feature makes tag management much easier. The main benefits are as follows:

  • Tag Classification: Tags can be automatically classified based on specific properties, such as the presence of attachments or media, or data from IoT devices. Users can also create their own categories for classification tailored to projects or purposes.
  • Improved Search Efficiency: You can filter the tag list by category, allowing you to quickly find the tag you are looking for.
  • Flexible Management: Team members can freely create and use categories. Administrators can merge unnecessary categories or restrict which categories can be used.

This manual provides a detailed explanation of everything from creating and managing categories to their actual use.

Global Categories are centralized categories used by all teams, serving as the foundation for every team.

Team Categories are customized categories that a team tailors to its specific needs.

1. Understanding the Category Type

Category has two types, one is System-Property-based Category and another is Custom Category.

System-Property-based Category

  • System-Property-based Category is a category that is defined by system, and cannot be edited or deleted.

  • System-Property-based Category is globally registered to all teams.

    • System-Property-based Category Items:

      • Media

      • Embed

      • Attachment

Note: 'IoT' will be supported as System-Property-based Category in near future with separate releases.

Custom Category

  • Custom Category is category that users can create, edit and delete as they want.

  • Custom Category cannot be named same with System-Property-based Category Items.

  • Custom Category can be used case-insensitive, while having case-sensitive display name, for easy management and usage.

    • *Users can create a category named either ‘Manual’ or ‘manual,’ depending on how they prefer to visualize or manage it. But search/merge like system functions behave case-insensitively.
