Learn how to get more out of Beamo with Plans and Packs.
Introduction
The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)login feature adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second authentication method in addition to your username and password. This feature serves to further protect your account from unauthorized access.
Who can use this feature?
| Super Admin | Site Manager | Team Admin | Surveyor | Collaborator | Viewer | |
| 2FA |
Note: At present, we only support Google Authenticator app as the authenticating tool for 2FA login.
Changing your smartphone?
If you change your smartphone, the Google Authenticator codes will not transfer automatically to your new device. Please take one of the following steps:
- Before changing devices: Transfer your Google Authenticator accounts to your new smartphone. See Google's official guide for instructions.
- If your old device is no longer available: Use one of your recovery codes to log in, then re-enable 2FA with your new device.
- If you have lost both your old device and recovery codes: Contact your Super Admin to reset your 2FA.
Do not factory reset or trade in your old smartphone until you have confirmed that you can log into Beamo on your new device.
Enabling 2FA Log In
Click the [Profile] in the header.
Go to Security.
Click [Set up Two-Factor Authentification]
If you have not yet installed the Google Authenticator app on your phone, you can either click the links provided on the screen or manually search directly from the App Store or Google Play to download the app.
After downloading the app, open it and scan the QR code provided on the screen to add the Beamo platform to your list of accounts.
Verify the authenticator code by entering the 6-digit code generated by your Google Authenticator app.
Once you have successfully verified your account using the Google Authenticator app, you will receive 10 recovery codes that can be used as a backup method for loging in.
Note: About 10 Recovery Code
The recovery codes generated by Beamo are valid for one-time use only and can be regenerated. Once regenerated, all previous existing codes will no longer be valid.
If you lose access to your 2FA authentication tool, you can use any valid recovery code to log in.
You can download your recovery codes as a txt file and store them in a secure location.
Disabling 2FA Login
- Go to Security under your Profile.
- Click [Disable 2FA].
- Complete this action by verifying your account password.
Note: Contact your space's Super Admin, if the button is deactivated. The super admin needs to set the 2FA as optional for user to disable the 2FA.
